Church Affiliations
Fannie joined Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. Throughout her membership, she was involved in many auxiliaries, served as a Sunday School Teacher, Vacation Bible School Teacher and Assistant Director. She was an humble and committed member of Pleasant Grove where she helped to develop and implement the AWANA Club, Christmas Benevolence for Golden Ages, MANNA Food Ministry, PROJECT T.E.A.C.H (To Enhance Academically, Culturally, Hopefully) Summer Enrichment Program, helped with implementation of children's church, and she also taught the primary class in the Anderson County Rocky River Association's School of Methods.
Education
After graduating from Crescent High School, Fannie attended Cecil's Business College where she received an Associate Degree and worked as an Executive Secretary. Fannie never stopped learning. She always took advantage of professional development opportunities offered through her employment. Fannie excelled in technology and human relations.
Employment
Upon graduating Cecil's Business College she began her career with Clark Schwebel Fiberglass as a Computer Specialist. Fannie left that job to be a stay at home mom with her children. She began volunteering at Anderson Oconee Head Start when her children were old enough to attend, and was then hired as a teacher. Fannie was later employed by Anderson School District 5 where she held 2 positions: she was a library assistant at Vareness Elementary School, and then moved to T.L. Hanna High School, first as a computer lab manager, and then as the library assistant. She retired from this position in 2015.
Fannie truly loved people and made friends everywhere she worked. She took great pride in serving as a mentor to many young people at Vareness Elementary School, and T.L. Hanna High School.
The Eternal Beginning
On Thursday morning, June 30, 2016 after battling a long illness, Fannie entered into eternal peace at Hospice House of the Upstate, surrounded by her loving family.
