Geneva Allen Obituary
Geneva H. Allen, age 95, of Dayton, peacefully transitioned to Glory on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at her home, surrounded by the love and comfort of her devoted family. Born on June 1, 1930, in Anderson, South Carolina, to the late Uriel and Lillie Williams, Geneva made her home there until 1976, when she relocated to Dayton, Ohio, where she cultivated a lasting legacy spanning four generations.
Family was the heart of Geneva’s life. The foundation she established became the cornerstone of cherished memories for her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Before her health declined, she found great joy in cooking and baking—favorites like fried chicken and banana pudding were always lovingly prepared. Her generous spirit was evident in every meal, often cooking enough to feed an army, simply because it brought her happiness to care for others through food.
Geneva also found joy in simple pleasures, particularly watching WWE on Monday and Friday nights. A devoted fan, she especially enjoyed watching Stone Cold Steve Austin.
Everything Geneva did was rooted in love and kindness, and her legacy will continue to be a source of strength and inspiration to all who knew her.
She is now reunited in eternal peace with her parents, Uriel and Lillie Williams; her late husband Marion M. Allen SR., her firstborn, Clarence E. Hatten; her only sibling, Verdell Rice; her grandson, Arthur V. Miller Jr.; and great-grandsons, Noah T. Ivory and TaRonn D. Pate.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Bobby L. Allen (Kim), Marvin L. Allen (Shanda), Lillie L. Whitfield (Erskin), Teresa D. Allen, and Melissa A. Allen, all of Dayton. She is also remembered with love by her bonus daughter, Judith Edwards (Malcolm), and bonus son, Marion M. Allen, both of Anderson, South Carolina.
Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Toney L. Allen (Michelle), Clarence Goodloe, Liacusia Y. Allen-Reese (Kelly), Khari Hatten (Abigail) of Denver, CO, Chezzie D. Allen, Jamar Lane, Marvin Allen Jr., NaTasha N. Allen, Marquan L. Ivory, V. Marquel Miller, DaMarquis D. Dixon, Teriauna G. Dixon, and Mario A. Miller, Markala Allen; along with her special cousin June Beatty, whom are all of Dayton and her special niece Sandra Williams from South Carolina.
She also leaves behind bonus grandchildren: Charity Edwards, Nekaun Swinger, Kiwee Galloway, and Coly Allen of Anderson, South Carolina, along with Lashawna Roper and Rick Smith Jr. of Dayton, OH. Geneva’s family tree includes 20 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
The Allen family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Crossroads Hospice Care and to Addie and the compassionate team at 4Ever Ready Home Care for their exceptional care and support.
