MR. WILLIAM BRIAN “BROWNIE” GOODLETT - Age 71, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2026. He was born on May 9, 1954, to Mack Charles Goodlett and Dolores Jacqueline Lynn. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Terrance Wesley Goodlett.
Affectionately known as “Brownie” by his family and friends, he was a proud graduate of West Georgia College, where he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree and became a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. He was a devoted member of New Hope Baptist Church, baptized by Pastor W. M. Brown and later rededicating his life to Christ under Pastor Kenneth Scaife.
For more than 40 years, he owned and operated his business, Renaissance Service and Products. Brownie was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he cherished his nieces and nephews as if they were his own. He never met a stranger, greeting everyone with warmth, kindness, and genuine connection.
He is survived by his son, Isaac “DJ Kut Throat” Jackson Sr., of Atlanta, Georgia; sisters, Maxaine Elaine Arnold and Gloria Anderson; brothers, Henry Alan Parks, Ronald Leslie Park, and Murray Gregory Goodlett; grandchildren, Navami Jackson, Harmony Williams, Ace Pierce Jackson, and Darien Jackson; uncle, Louise Calvin Lynn; aunt, Adrienne Betty Brooks; nephews, Brian Keith ( Melissa) Parks, Bryce Eugene Arnold, Toriano (T.J.) (Ashanti) Blackwell, Tyree (Anna) Goodett, Terrance Mack (Chi) Goodlett, Jordan Goodlett, Malik Goodlett; nieces, and Camila Goodlett, Eliscia (Tobey) Hall, Delania Anderson, Ronecia Anderson, and Shante Black; special friend, Doretha McGlory; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives cousins and friends.
Homegoing Celebration will be held Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Noon at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 900 Roan Street, Dalton, Georgia 30721 with Rev. Rodney Weaver, Eulogist. The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. will conduct the “Omega Memorial Service” in William’s honor at 11:00 AM at the church. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, Georgia and Rich Colonial Funeral Home, Anderson, South Carolina where Stanley L. Rich is Funeral Director.
